This is not meant to be a beating, but rather a tool to give you some help in reading and understanding God’s word. If you miss a day, and can “catch up: by doubling up, then sweet. If you can’t read on certain days, adjust the schedule to fit your life. I think you will find the schedule pretty easy to maintain if you keep just a bit of discipline.

Summary:
Monday: Ecclesiastes 6 – 9
Chapter 6 continues the lament of Solomon by declaring the futility of life itself. Chapter 7 compares wisdom and folly and the inherent unfairness of life. Chapter 8 urges the reader to obey those in authority and how man cannot understand God. Chapter 9 reminds that God alone is the true ruler.
Tuesday: Ecclesiastes 10 – 12
Chapter 10 warns against the hint of foolishness as it will corrupt. Chapter 11 gives practical advice for good living. Chapter 12 exhorts the reader in light of everything prior to fear and follow God.
Wednesday: Song of Solomon 1 – 4
Chapter 1 celebrates the love between woman and the king. Chapter 2 declares the beauty of the bride. Chapter 3 tells of the troubled sleep and dreams of the woman before celebrating the wedding day. Chapter 4 express the love for the woman (in some entertaining ways to modern readers).
Thursday: Song of Solomon 5 – 8
Chapter 5 shows the pain of separation from a loved one. Chapter 6 celebrates the joy between the lovers. Chapter 7 again praises the beauty of the woman. Chapter 8 expresses the joy and hope of love.
Friday: Hebrews 1 – 4
Hebrews 1 exalts Jesus as the final word from God and higher than the angels of heaven. Chapter 2 warns the reader to be true and follow Christ who was humbled for our salvation. Chapter 3 shows Jesus as the faithful priest who should be followed. Hebrews 4 shows how Jesus is our rest in fulfilment of the Sabbath of the Old Testament Law.
Saturday: Hebrews 5 – 8
Hebrews 5 shows Jesus as the eternal high priest. Chapter 6 warns against falling away from God because He is the best thing. Hebrews 7 shows the line of priests (Melchizedek) from which Jesus claims His authority. Chapter 8 shows the better way of the New Covenant.
Sunday: Hebrews 9 – 13
Hebrews 9 compares the Old & New Covenants and explains how the New is greater. Hebrews 10 shows the sufficiency of Christ’s work and encourages fellowship among believers. Chapter 11 recounts the faith of Old Testament saints. Chapter 12 encourages faithfulness in light of past examples (Chapter 11). Hebrews 13 urges us to continue in faith as Christ does not change.
