Reading through the Bible Week 38

This is not meant to be a beating, but rather a tool to give you some help in reading and understanding God’s word.  If you miss a day, and can “catch up: by doubling up, then sweet.  If you can’t read on certain days, adjust the schedule to fit your life.  I think you will find the schedule pretty easy to maintain if you keep just a bit of discipline.

Summary:
Monday: Psalm 124 – 127
Psalm 124 is a song of praise for rescue.  Psalm 125 is a song of declaration of God’s protection.  Psalm 126 is a song of thanksgiving.  Psalm 127 is a song of hope in God’s provision.
Tuesday: Psalm 128 – 131
Psalm 128 is a song of teaching the fear of the Lord.  Psalm 129 is a song for help from God.  Psalm 130 is a song of hope in God’s grace.  Psalm 131 is a song of trust.
Wednesday: Psalm 132 – 135
Psalm 132 is a song of prayer for God’s blessing.  Psalm 133 is a song of unity.  Psalm 134 is a song of greeting.  Psalm 135 is a praise of God’s works and a warning against idolatry.
Thursday: Psalm 136 – 139
Psalm 136 is a thanksgiving for God’s work and goodness.  Psalm 137 is a lament of the exile.  Psalm 138 is a thanksgiving for God’s blessing and favor.  Psalm 139 is a prayer for sanctification from an omnipotent, omnipresent God.
Friday: Psalm 140 – 143
Psalm 140 is a prayer for protection against evil.  Psalm 141 is a prayer for sanctification.  Psalm 142 is prayer for deliverance in calamity.  Psalm 143 is a prayer for guidance.
Saturday: Psalm 144 – 147
Psalm 144 is a prayer for protection and deliverance.  Psalm 145 is a praise of God’s goodness.  Psalm 146 is a praise of God for His help.  Psalm 147 is a praise for God’s restoration of His people.
Sunday:  Psalm 148 – 150
Psalm 148 is a call to praise sent out to all creation.  Psalm 149 is a call to praise to all Israel.  Psalm 150 is a call to praise God always.
