Reading through the Bible Week 23

This is not meant to be a beating, but rather a tool to give you some help in reading and understanding God’s word.  If you miss a day, and can “catch up: by doubling up, then sweet.  If you can’t read on certain days, adjust the schedule to fit your life.  I think you will find the schedule pretty easy to maintain if you keep just a bit of discipline.

With that said…………….

This week’s reading:
Monday
: 1 Chronicles 26 – 29
Tuesday: 2 Chronicles 1 – 2
Wednesday: 2 Chronicles 3 – 5
Thursday: 2 Chronicles 6 – 8
Friday: 2 Chronicles  9 – 11
Saturday: 2 Chronicles 12 – 14
Sunday:  2 Chronicles 15 – 17
Monday: 2 Chronicles 18 – 20

Summary:
Monday
: 1 Chronicles 5 – 7
These chapters continue the genealogies of the tribes of Israel.
Tuesday: 1 Chronicles 8 – 10
Chapters 8 & 9 move from genealogy to census.  Chapter 10 begins the narrative of 1 Chronicles with the recounting of the death of Saul.
Wednesday: 1 Chronicles 11 – 13
Chapter 11 quickly makes David king and Jerusalem the capital of Israel.  Chapter 12 continues 11’s census with David’s supporters listed.  Chapter 13 recounts the travel of the Ark in to the city and the troubles encountered.  (Note: There is a lot of repetition in Chronicles compared to Kings & Samuel.  Chronicles (1 & 2) will focus on Judah and in many cases give a shortened account of the events previously seen.  In other places, because of the focus, the account will be lengthened with more detail.  They are still the same event from differing perspectives, as in the Gospels, and should be no cause for worry to the Christian.)
Thursday: 1 Chronicles 14 – 16
Chapter 14 shows the blessings of God upon David both in military and family.  Chapter 15 finally moves the Ark of the Covenant into the capital city.  Chapter 16 builds the tent for the Ark and concludes with a Psalm of Thanks and the worship of the people.
Friday: 1 Chronicles 17 – 19
Chapter 17 gives the covenant between God & David and David’s prayer.  Chapter 18 again shows God’s blessing upon David’s kingdom.  Chapter 19 gives some of David’s battle victories.
Saturday: 1 Chronicles 20 – 22
Chapter 20 shows victory in battle for David.  Chapter 21 is David’s sin (another one) in bringing the census.  Chapter 22 moves to focus upon the Temple and Solomon as the one to build it.
Sunday:  1 Chronicles 23 – 25
Chapter 23 transitions from David to Solomon and the census of the Levites, which will continue through chapter 26.
